Spring is a time of renewal, and it’s also a good time to clean and organize your workspace so you’re not distracted by clutter. Once you clean and organize, it’s easier to focus on tasks and projects. Here are a few tips to help you get started on spring cleaning.
Declutter your desk
Dispose of anything that isn’t working, including writing utensils, staplers, and document clips. Put basic supplies into separate containers or holders.
Clean out drawers
Throw out old snack wrappers and trinkets, and take any paperwork and file it properly or shred it if it’s no longer useful or relevant.
Go through notes
Address what’s important and get rid of irrelevant or outdated ones. If you’ve scribbled contact information on a note, put that information in your contact file or throw it out.
Organize and wrap electronics cords
Avoid cable cord chaos by wrapping them in an organized and orderly fashion with cable wraps and ties.
Clean computer screens and keyboards
The keyboard on your computer can get pretty dirty, so wipe the keyboard and screen down.
Organize your computer’s files and desktop
Just like your real desk, organize and clean files and documents on your computer’s desktop.
Clean and organize emails
Go through emails that have accumulated. Make folders and put relevant emails into the folders and delete ones that aren’t necessary.
Imagine how good you’ll feel after going through these basic steps to help clean and organize your workspace.
