We are looking for experienced leaders who are entrepreneurial and who can recruit, mentor, and grow high-performing mortgage teams. Senior Mortgage Underwriter

We are seeking a Senior Mortgage Underwriter for a full-time, on-site position based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Sr. Mortgage Underwriter will be responsible for evaluating and analyzing loan applications to make credit decisions in compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. Daily responsibilities include assessing borrower credit profiles, reviewing income and asset documentation, underwriting mortgage loans, and ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete throughout the approval process. Collaboration with loan officers and other team members to identify and resolve issues will be essential to ensure efficient loan processing and approvals.

Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the mortgage industry, including Agency, FHA, Jumbo, Non-QM, Cooperative, and Condominium underwriting guidelines and requirements.
  • Strong expertise in appraisal review and risk analysis, with the ability to identify valuation concerns, regulatory issues, and collateral-related risks.
  • In-depth understanding of federal mortgage regulations, underwriting standards, compliance requirements, and lending best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with the ability to assess creditworthiness and evaluate complex loan scenarios.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with loan officers, operations teams, and other stakeholders to deliver a high-quality borrower experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years recent mortgage underwriting experience and delegated credit authority required
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent mortgage industry experience will be considered.

 

 

Marketing Specialist

This full-time, on-site Marketing Specialist role is based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. Responsibilities include developing and executing marketing strategies, conducting market research, creating promotional materials, and managing marketing campaigns. The Marketing Specialist will also be tasked with enhancing client communication, collaborating with the sales team to support their initiatives, and delivering excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build relationships and provide exceptional support to internal teams and clients.
  • Proficiency in market research, marketing strategy development, and sales support initiatives.
  • Keen attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team setting.
  • Proficient in writing marketing content and working with graphics for digital, social media, and branding initiatives.
  • Experience with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) strategies to enhance online visibility, website traffic, and digital engagement.
  • Familiarity with marketing tools, technologies, analytics platforms, and digital media relevant to business development and brand growth.
  • Experience in the mortgage or financial services industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Encompass LOS and Surefire CRM is a plus.

Residential Mortgage Closer

GuardHill is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Residential Mortgage Closer to join our growing mortgage operations team. The Mortgage Closer is responsible for coordinating and preparing residential mortgage loans for closing, ensuring all investor, agency, regulatory, and company requirements have been satisfied prior to funding. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of mortgage closing practices, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare and coordinate mortgage closing packages in compliance with investor, agency, federal, state, and company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with loan officers, processors, underwriters, attorneys, settlement agents, title companies, and borrowers to facilitate timely closings.
  • Review Closing Disclosures (CDs) for accuracy and compliance with TRID requirements.
  • Verify loan terms, fees, escrows, funding requirements, and closing conditions.
  • Coordinate closing schedules and communicate closing details to all parties involved.
  • Ensure loan documents are complete, accurate, and properly executed.
  • Review title commitments, insurance policies, and other closing documentation.
  • Resolve closing issues and work proactively to prevent delays.
  • Ensure compliance with agency, investor, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, Non-QM, Cooperative, Condominium, and internal lending guidelines.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and loan records throughout the closing process.
  • Meet established service level agreements and closing deadlines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to borrowers, referral partners, attorneys, and internal staff.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of residential mortgage closing experience preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mortgage closing processes and documentation.
  • Strong understanding of TRID, RESPA, TILA, federal lending regulations, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience reviewing Closing Disclosures, title commitments, and settlement statements.
  • Knowledge of Conventional, FHA, VA, Jumbo, Non-QM, Cooperative, and Condominium loan programs.
  • Proficiency with Encompass Loan Origination System (LOS) preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent mortgage industry experience will be considered.
